Sephiria defense build: Guardian, block sustain, and Hard Mode
A defensive route built around Guardian-style sustain, block timing, Side Bag boss kits, and the stability that matters in Hard Mode.

Defense must create another decision
A defensive build is not permission to stand in every attack. Its value is the extra time to read a room, recover from a mistake, or wait for a better punish window.
Pair defense with one reliable damage route so the run does not stall in a long encounter.
Block and movement together
Use block for the attack you can identify and movement for the attack that changes the room shape. Spending both on the same cue leaves the next cue unanswered.
Practice the transition from block to attack and record whether the recovery is safe against the current enemy group.
Hard Mode preparation
Use the Side Bag to reserve a boss-specific survival or burst item, then keep the primary grid focused on the rooms that lead there. Stability is the result of preparation, not a single defense stat.
Use this guide in a run
- 01Name the goal
Decide whether the route is for first clear, Hard Mode, boss damage, or co-op support.
- 02Lock the core
Choose the weapon action and the artifact or tablet line that makes it repeatable.
- 03Protect replacements
Keep a damage, survival, and room-control fallback for runs that miss the ideal drop.
- 04Test three rooms
A build is ready when it works in a normal room, a crowded room, and a boss window.
Before you commit to this route
- Name the repeatable action the build is built around
- List the core item and two realistic replacements
- Test a normal room, a dense room, and a boss window
- Record difficulty, version, and solo/co-op context
